Instant karma on NYC’s streets: Attacker who tries to ambush couple walking their dog is stabbed seven times when his assault plan spectacularly backfires
This is the shocking moment a would-be attacker in New York City was stabbed seven times by an intended victim after his plan to ambush a couple backfired spectacularly.
Surveillance footage shows the 37-year-old attacker appearing to ambush two people walking their dogs near 49th and Broadway in Woodside on Wednesday afternoon, the NYPD said.
The attacker, seen in the video wearing a blue sweatshirt, throws an article of clothing to the ground before approaching his victim from behind.
The victim bends and turns, grabbing his attacker by the neck and pulling him to the ground before unleashing a series of attacks with a knife as his companion joins the attack.
The original attacker is held to the ground and helpless to respond as the couple beat him up in broad daylight, while bystanders only watch as the commotion unfolds.
The attacker eventually gets to his feet, but is stopped by his intended victim, seen wearing a medical boot on his right foot, and is prevented from escaping.

From another angle, the man initially attacked is seen on a scooter with a woman and a husky at 2:40 p.m.
The attacker is seen approaching from behind, with a black garment under his left arm.
He throws the jacket in his left hand to the ground before lunging at his victim with a punch.
The man appears to dodge the attack and turns to look at his attacker as his companion intervenes.
The attacker is dragged to the ground, helpless to defend himself as his feet writhe and struggle to find a stable base.
His potential victim can get on his knees and hold the man in a lock while he lies against him.
The companion appears to punch and kick the man in the back as the dog watches, dragged around on a leash by the responding couple.
The horrific attack comes just days after shocking footage was captured of the moment a serial killer stabbed a random tourist near Times Square in an apparently unprovoked attack.
A man using a walker was seen on video brandishing a weapon at West 43rd and Eighth Avenue, near the storefront of Port Gourmet Deli before lunging at an unsuspecting woman.
It took another two minutes for police officers to close in, prompting him to drop the knife and arrest him.
