Hunter Biden’s ‘sugar brother’ Kevin Morris ‘tapped out’ of cash after funding President’s son’s legal battles for almost five years

Hollywood lawyer and Hunter Biden’s ‘sugar brother’ Kevin Morris is said to have ‘drained’ his money after financially supporting Hunter’s legal battle to the tune of $6 million over the past four and a half years.

Morris, 61, decided to intervene after believing Hunter had little support, but has since confirmed he will no longer continue to lend him money to fight his battle.

The withdrawal of financial support for the president’s son comes at the worst possible time for Hunter, 54, with two trials looming that could ultimately land him in prison.

Hunter faces upcoming federal trials on gun charges in Delaware beginning June 3, with a second trial three weeks later in California on June 20 on tax charges.

“The reason Kevin got involved financially in the first place was so he could see that no one was going to help Hunter,” a Morris associate told Politics.

‘Now, four and a half years later, there is still no help – and now Kevin is completely exhausted. So just as Hunter is facing two criminal charges in a few weeks, he has no resources. It’s quite dire.’

In a interview with lawmakers earlier this year, Morris’ role in paying Biden’s legal bills was made clear.

The couple met in 2019 during Papa, President Biden’s campaign for the White House.

The pair quickly developed a close friendship just as Hunter was trying to get his life on track and stay sober.

Morris helped him find safe housing at the time. He was dubbed Hunter’s “sugar brother” after he agreed to loan the First Son a reported $2.8 million to pay off his tax debts and joined his legal team amid criminal and congressional investigations.

But after four and a half years of shouldering the financial burden and loaning him more than $6.5 million, Morris is no longer willing to foot the bill.

The development is especially worrying as Hunter faces two major legal battles and it is unclear who could pay witnesses to testify in his defense.

Experts who testify at trials have been known to charge more than $500 per hour to appear.

Hunter’s lead attorney, Abbe Lowell, who is preparing for his first trial on charges that he illegally purchased a gun as a drug user, is said to have charged between $855 and $1,500 an hour for his services.

Lowell has nearly 50 years of experience as a lawyer and has prepared for the trial by finding expert witnesses to testify on a variety of topics, including drug addiction and forensics – with payments still to be agreed.

Last summer, while at Morris’ Malibu home, Hunter was photographed on a balcony within view of the public street appearing to blow from a white bong, in photos obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com.

The images brought unwanted flashbacks for the First Son, who spent years photographing and filming himself taking large amounts of drugs, including crack cocaine, on weeks-long benders, material from his abandoned laptop shows.

One of the charges against Hunter rests on a 2018 federal gun charge that he was not an illegal drug user when he admitted in his memoir to being a crack addict.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Despite hiring top lawyers, it can be difficult for them to challenge the facts of the case.

In Hunter’s 2021 memoir, Beautiful Things, he admitted to a “full-blown addiction” to crack cocaine in 2018 — the period when he purchased the Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver.

The federally required firearms transaction report for the purchase asks, “Are you an unlawful user of or addicted to marijuana or a sedative, stimulant, narcotic, or other controlled substance?”

Hunter checked the “no” box on the form, obtained by DailyMail.com.

The charges against him would be stayed as part of a plea deal Hunter reached with prosecutors in which he would admit to tax crimes for deliberately failing to file and pay his tax bill on millions of dollars in income.

But under the watch of a federal judge in July, the plea deal fell apart spectacularly in court over a controversial clause that would have given him blanket immunity for other offenses.
