Assassin’s Creed Shadows story and setting
In Assassin’s Creed Shadowsyou will experience the intertwined stories of Naoe, a skilled shinobi assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend. Set against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.
Entering Japan will be a franchise first and given the detailed environments and locations we’ve already experienced, there’s a lot to expect from feudal Japan. Ubisoft has announced That Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be the “future of our open-world RPG games.” So we expect a lot of exploration and an incredibly interactive environment that will set the tone for the next episode.
The story has yet to unfold, but since Japan is one of the most anticipated settings, the chances of that happening are high Shadows could become one of the best Assassin’s Creed games not yet, depending on how the game plays out. Marc-Alexis Cote stated as much Shadows is “pushing for a more dynamic world, a world that evolves around you and we want everything you have about yourself to evolve as you walk through this environment.” (Thank you, VGC.)
Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay
Assassin’s Creed Shadows in-game action has yet to be shown, so much of what we currently know about the game’s content is based on fairly vague announcements and the short reveal trailer we received.
But we are not completely in the dark. Between announcements and statements from the team, in addition to announcements from Ubisoft, we start to collect bits of information about the game’s content, so that we vaguely know what to expect and how the game plans to step up from previous games.
Shadows will open the doors to a “powerful shinobi fantasy” for players. While we haven’t seen any in-game content yet, based on this statement alone, we can expect that there will be a huge emphasis on stealth missions and infiltration, even more so than in previous versions. Assassin’s Creed games.
Judging from the two trailers so far, we can see that the first playable character will continue the tradition of having a hidden blade, which gives a very small hint of what we can expect from combat. In addition, the Shinobi also has a short sword of sorts, which we believe is the character’s signature weapon.
The second playable character is a samurai named Yasuke. In the second trailer he is seen with two-handed weapons and a much more direct fighting style. How players will switch between Naoe and Yasuke remains to be seen, but it’s likely that each will offer a different skill tree and set of abilities to unlock.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows development
While there is enough Assassin’s Creed games to share development time with (several are planned for the future, Shadows has a pretty hefty studio making it. Ubisoft Quebec is leading the game and has a rich history in the series.
The studio was located behind the Assassin’s Creed III and then Black flag expansions and earned the right to fully develop a main entry in the series Assassin’s Creed Syndicateand then Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Considering Shadows is being positioned as the next big open-world RPG game in the series, this pedigree can only inspire confidence.
