Meghan Markle touches down in LAX in £990 sweater, a £2,900 blazer and £815 shoes after marathon 18-hour flight from Nigeria with Prince Harry

The 42-year-old and her husband Prince Harry, 39, arrived at the airport after an 18-hour marathon flight from Nigeria.

The couple who left Abuja yesterday after a three-day visit were photographed boarding a car at the airport’s ‘Private Suites’ facility.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said their semi-royal tour was ‘fantastic’, with the couple adding that it will be the ‘first of many memorable trips’.

Images of the couple show Meghan wearing fitted, cropped white jeans – a style she has favored several times in the past.

She paired the trousers with a brown linen and wool blend blazer from Loro Piana called the Jamilla, which retails for around £2,900.

The double-breasted blazer from the chic Italian brand is designed with an oversized cut, a long silhouette and notched lapels.

Under her jacket, the Duchess wore a cashmere-silk blend sweater, the Takao Jumper, also from Loro Piana.

The expensive top costs £990. According to the brand: ‘In the poetry of colour, our collection weaves a tapestry of calm, grounded ease, painting the canvas with neutral, earthy tones.

‘A round neckline in cashmere and silk with short sleeves and a regular fit that falls to the hips. The patterned stitching is reminiscent of Argyle style and adds a timeless touch of sophistication.”

Meghan coordinated the ensemble with a pair of £815 Chris canvas and leather slippers from Yves Saint Laurent in the golden brown colourway.

The two-tone shoes are said to offer the wearer ‘everyday glamour’, with an ‘elegant silhouette’ and gold durability.

Mother-of-two Meghan wore her long black locks down and fell down her back.

She completed the look with what appeared to be a chunky gold watch on her left wrist, and also wore rings on her wedding finger.

Meanwhile, husband Harry was dressed in a dark two-piece suit and shirt, which he paired with dessert boots in a dark color with white soles.

He carried what appeared to be a leather file under his arm as he made his way to the waiting vehicle.

The couple have been busy on their whistling tour, issuing about eight press releases on Sussex.com about their visit to Nigeria, which took them to Abuja and Lagos and ran from Friday to Sunday last week.

Today, in a press release about the end of their trip, the Sussexes referred to the reception they received in Lagos and their attendance at a polo match.

The statement read: “Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex concluded their unforgettable trip to Nigeria with a cultural reception in Lagos and a polo match fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered.

‘The couple were greeted before the match with a beautiful parade – a lively display of young enthusiasts in polo gear, proudly waving the green and white flags of Nigeria – followed by a procession of older children on horseback, which set the tone for the day full of sport and spirit.

‘The friendly rivalry between the teams, aptly named Duke versus Duchess, added a layer of excitement to the event, with the Duchess’ team claiming victory by a score of 5-3.

‘The day ended with the couple presenting medals, a gesture of appreciation for the great talent and dedication of the players.

“The Duke and Duchess would like to express their deepest gratitude to all event organizers, military officials and the entire Nigerian community for their tremendous hospitality and the first of many memorable journeys.”
