‘A slice of Greece in Australia’: Travellers flock to this coastal paradise with turquoise water and white sands like the Mediterranean
Australian travelers are adding a little-known beach in the country’s southwest to their holiday bucket list, comparing it to a beach on a Greek island.
Hamelin Bay Beach is located on the beautiful south-west coast of Western Australia, a three and a half hour drive from Perth in the incredible Margaret River region.
It offers visitors a slice of Greece without having to leave their home thanks to its bright white sandy beaches and striking aquamarine waters.
The magical coastline is littered with otherworldly sloping rock formations for you to explore and sit under to protect yourself from the WA sun.
Hamelin Bay Beach is sheltered from the hard surf, making the water calm and refreshing for swimming, snorkeling, paddling or taking a boat tour.

The dreamy paradise is known for its population of gregarious stingrays that often glide gracefully along the water’s edge.
Even on a busy day, punters won’t feel crowded as they can stretch out on the long stretches of white sand.
WA beaches also have the added bonus of being able to watch the sun set spectacularly over the ocean – and Hamelin Bay is no exception.
British travel blogger Samantha raved about her recent visit to Hamelin Bay, calling it ‘Australia’s Greece’.
