Tiger Woods has returned to Kentucky and Valhalla Golf Club for his second major of the year in the PGA Championship.
Woods has started his practice run in Louisville with outside hopes of winning a 16th major championship.
He was seen teeing off on the 10th hole and hitting several chip shots on that green in hopes of getting better acquainted with a course he already knows.
It was at this course in 2000 that Woods continued his quest for what became known as the ‘Tiger Slam’.
When Valhalla hosted the PGA Championship that year, Woods had already won the US Open at Pebble Beach and the Open Championship at St. Andrews in Scotland.

He hopes to bounce back from a career-worst performance at The Masters in April
It was at Valhalla in 2000 where Woods won the third leg of his famous ‘Tiger Slam’
Woods, who at the time had four majors to his name (including a career grand slam), wanted to add another.
He seemed ready from the start and held at least a share of the lead at the end of all four laps.
But on the final day, he would have to win a three-hole playoff against Bob May to defend the Wannamaker Trophy.
After birdieing the first hole, Woods parried the final two holes to win by one stroke and keep alive what would become known as the ‘Tiger Slam’.
He would cap the feat by winning four straight majors the following spring at the 2001 Masters.
Woods will be hoping to find a way to bounce back from his poor performance at this year’s Masters. He made the cut, but finished last of those who played all four rounds – with an abysmal 16 over par.
Links and start times for Thursday’s first round have yet to be released.
