Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach reveals which designers the A-list actress WILL NOT wear and why

Zendaya’s favorite stylist Law Roach has opened up about which major fashion brands wouldn’t dress the star at the start of her career.

The 45-year-old tailor – who is responsible for the 27-year-old beauty’s stunning red carpet looks – appeared on the Cutting Room Floor podcast this week, where he named ‘the big five’ designers who refused to lend their pieces to Euphoria in its early show business days.

‘I would write the big five. I would write Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Dior. And they would all say no,” Law spilled.

He said the old labels told them to “try again next year,” that Zendaya was “too green,” or that “she’s not on our agenda.”

“…And I still have the receipts,” he added. “By the time she came to American Vogue, she had never done that [worn] all these designers. She still hasn’t,” Law said.

Law further noted that his client ended up wearing Valentino because the designer signed her for a 2020 campaign.

He also clarified that the Oakland native has modeled pieces from some of the five brands strictly in an editorial fashion, but never on a red carpet.

Roach, originally from Chicago, emphasized, “She has never worn Dior on a carpet. She has never worn Chanel on a carpet. She’s never worn Gucci on a carpet – no press, no appearance, ever. Never.

“The first time she wore Valentino in public was when she was under contract, so when I said, ‘If you say no, it will be no forever,’ that stuck for a long time.”

Zendaya, full name Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, and Law are known for creating flawless, edgy looks.

Recently, the Dune actress delighted fans during her Challengers press tour, with each look having a tennis theme, similar to the movie.

And on Monday at the 2024 Met Gala, Zendaya tackled the Garden of Time theme with two different ensembles.

Law stood by her side and escorted her up the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for both turns.

Law retired from working as a fashion stylist in 2023 after being rejected from the front row at a Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week show.

He posted a photo on Instagram showing a red sign with “RETIRED” in large white letters.

“My cup is empty…..thank you to everyone who has supported me and my career over the years. To everyone who trusted me with their image, I am so grateful to all of you,” he wrote in the caption. “If this company was just about clothes, I would be in it for the rest of my life, but unfortunately that’s not the case!” he added.

‘The politics, the lies and false stories have finally gotten to me! You win… I’m out.”

Roach has continued to collaborate with Zendaya, who he affectionately calls his “little sister,” and has taken on other notable fashion projects in addition to styling.

He currently co-hosts the new E! Entertainment competition series OMG Fashun alongside Julia Fox.
