Saldana spoke about Leeuwin during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and discussed how Sheridan based the show on his interest in the female-led U.S. military program of the same name.
‘I know that [Sheridan] has great admiration for the real work that gets done when we’re all asleep, so he’s taking it upon himself to bring attention to this world,” she said.
The performer also talked about her character, a CIA officer in charge of the field agents of the Lioness program.
“I think I had to have her intentions very clear in my mind. For me she is a real shooter. She’s clean. There’s nothing dirty about what Joe does,” she said.
