I spent hundreds on my daughter’s birthday party and no one came – even my dad and brother were no shows

A mother who spent $400 on her child’s birthday party became enraged after none of the guests showed up, including her own father and brother.

Anber, from Las Vegas, had paid for catering, snacks, a bouncy castle and decorations for her daughter’s birthday party at their home in April after inviting several friends and relatives.

The mother-of-five took to TikTok to criticize the guests for ‘not bothering’ to show up, let alone call or message to inform the family of their absence.

Anber has one video on her account @anberx5, where she shows off her decorated but deserted backyard on the day of the party, along with the food and games for the kids to put out.

The mom captioned the footage, “Literally cried… spent over $400,” and added overlay text that read, “POV, when no one shows up to your daughter’s birthday party.”

In the first part of the 13-second clip, Anber’s young son was seen wiping away tears as he sat on a bench in the garden.

She later clarified that it was because he was “hurt” that no one showed up to celebrate his sister’s birthday.

Anber then turned the camera to show a colorful bouncy castle complete with a slide, ball pit, pink and yellow balloons tied to furniture and a banner with Yo Gabba Gabba cartoon characters.

She then presented the food she wanted to offer guests, including an entire table full of snacks like Doritos, Cheetos and Ruffles chips, as well as a platter of meats and cheeses.

In the kitchen, several bowls of ready-made food that the mother had ordered in advance were being heated in the stove, while bowls of chopped pineapple, watermelon, mango and apple sat idly next to plates of Mexican garnishes such as lime, onion and cilantro .

In a sequel videothe mother clarified some of the finer details behind her daughter’s disappointing experience of no one showing up to her party.

She claimed that she expected guests to show up at the birthday party from 2pm onwards, and had even made sure to confirm their attendance at 10am.

The ‘majority’ of guests were family members, as well as a ‘few’ friends who planned to bring their own children. However, by 5pm no one had ‘bothered’ to show up or make contact to inform the family that they would not be coming.

Anber added that she tried to call and message the absent guests all day, but was ignored and has since decided to cut off contact with them.

According to Anber, the next morning the family was inundated with texts and calls from the absent guests, but she vows that she will “never throw a party again – that’s not going to happen.”

One person wrote: ‘This happened to me. Never invited anyone again. And we’re going somewhere nice now,” while another said: “Nobody showed up to my daughter’s ninth birthday party. We stayed up all night decorating. My heart is still so broken.”

One parent even offered a solution to avoid future disappointment at the party by proposing a “Yes Day,” writing, “Instead of a party, we’ll host a Yes Day on their birthday.” They choose where we eat and where we go that day. We’ve done water parks, zoos, etc.’
