Miguel Almiron hit with £1,550 speeding fine, bizarrely on the same day as his old nemesis Jack Grealish was also forced to cough up £666 for doing 44mph in a 30mph in his £100k Range Rover Sport
Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron has been fined £1,550 for speeding on a busy road on the outskirts of the city.
While Paraguayan international Almiron pleaded guilty to two charges on April 26, the news only emerged on Wednesday, the same day Man City’s Jack Grealish was similarly forced to cough up £666 for speeding in a 50km/h -zone.
The England star insulted the Newcastle forward during a drunken dig in 2022, but later revealed he regretted the incident.
Almiron was caught exceeding the 30mph speed limit on the A167 on the outskirts of Newcastle in an Audi Q5 and was unable to identify himself to police after the incident on November 10, 2022.
The 30-year-old pleaded guilty to both charges at South Tyneside Magistrates Court on April 26 this year and was fined £1,550 and three points on his driving licence.

Grealish made a drunken joke about Almiron in May 2022 – which he later admitted he regretted
Grealish was hit with a £1,000 bill after admitting driving his Range Rover Sport at 45mph in a 30mph zone in Wythall, Worcestershire in July 2023.
The 28-year-old Man City midfielder was initially charged with failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver of the vehicle, which costs up to £114,000, but those charges were dropped during the brief hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court on Wednesday .
Grealish was not present at court, but his lawyer John Dye entered a guilty plea on his behalf. Mr Dye said he had been ‘instructed to apologise’ on Grealish’s behalf. He was fined £666 by magistrates and ordered to pay £110 costs and a £266 victim surcharge.
Grealish made disparaging comments to Bernardo Silva during Manchester City’s title parade in May 2022, joking that Riyad Mahrez should be ‘taken off’ for playing as Almiron.
The Man City star later admitted he was ashamed of the whole affair in an interview with Mail Sport in December of the same year.
Grealish said: “I haven’t actually been asked about that and I’ll just talk about it.
‘Sometimes I do stupid things that I regret. It was the day after the season ended and I had clearly had a few drinks. Then I remember I was in Ibiza and (the video) came out clearly.
‘That was something I regretted. I do stupid things and that was one.

“I swear, I’m really bummed about the way he reacted. He recently said something about me in an interview and wished me the best.
“I thought, what a guy, because if someone had said that about me, I probably would have been the other way.
“I messaged Matt Targett because I have a good relationship with him [Aston] Villa and I said to him, “Can you send him a message for me and tell him I apologize?”
‘I thought the video was private. But even in private I shouldn’t have said it, because he is a fellow professional.’
