Met Gala 2024 WORST-dressed stars revealed: Emma Chamberlain suffers a major fashion fail in a see-through brown gown – as celebrities turn fashion’s biggest night into a freak show with bizarre red carpet flops

The Met Gala may be the biggest fashion night of the year — but several celebrities who stepped out on the red carpet at the prestigious event tonight proved that it’s also a prime example of when a desperate desire to make a style mark can go horribly wrong to go.

Because while many guests at this year’s gala were impressed with their fashion looks, several of them suffered such disastrous style flaws that they made the red carpet look more like a Halloween parade.

The dress code for this year’s event is The Garden of Time, which is in keeping with the new exhibition it is being held to celebrate: Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, a somewhat ironic title considering that several attendees looked a lot like they had just rolled out of bed and straight onto the red carpet.

Crazy hairstyles, sheer dresses and bizarre attempts at haute couture costumes were all paraded in front of the cameras within minutes of the event starting.

The online star wore a faded brown lace dress that made her look like a tree trunk cut down in the prime of its life – a far cry from the stylish star many know her to be.

Host Anna Wintour’s daughter Bee Carrozzini also missed the mark in her own side song, which had an incredibly strange pattern and included several cutouts that made it look a bit like it had been put together at the last minute.

La La Anthony also landed on the worst dressed list thanks to her very tacky looking corset dress, with a lace panel running down her neck and into the sleeves.

Influencer and YouTube star Emma Chamberlain, 22, was an early arrival who suffered a very rare fashion faux pas, donning a faded brown lace dress that left her looking like a tree trunk cut down in the prime of its life – very different from the stylish star which many know her as.

Host Anna Wintour’s daughter Bee Carrozzini also missed the mark in her own lace number, which featured an incredibly strange black-and-white pattern that looked more like an optical illusion than the design for a high-end couture piece.

It also featured several cutouts and string embellishments, which made it look a bit like it had been thrown together at the last minute, rather than carefully planned weeks in advance.

Lace proved to be a tricky material for many at tonight’s event, with La La Anthony also securing a spot on the worst-dressed list thanks to her very tacky looking corset dress, with a lace insert that went up to her neck and into the sleeves, while the rest of the design culminated in a large rose-shaped mermaid-style hem on the floor.
