This is the moment a huge street fight erupts between a group of men as Met police officers fight to contain the violence.

The shocking footage begins by showing several men throwing punches at each other, which then spill onto the road and into oncoming traffic.

Police confirmed the major fight happened on Streatham High Road at 3.45pm on Saturday. Firearms officers attended the scene and a PCSO suffered minor injuries.

The video shows what appears to be unmarked police then arriving on the scene to help calm the unrest, forcing the crowd to disperse.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of fraud and taken to a police station in south London.

The video, which lasts over a minute, provoked numerous reactions on social media.

Commenting on the video, someone on X wrote: “This is weird. London is a mess!’

Another added: ‘Not enough police, outnumbered, literally the hoodies are running the place in London.’

A third also wrote: ‘I was born in Streatham. It was a great place to live. Well, what can you say.’

A Met Police spokesperson said: ‘On Saturday, May 4, police officers intervened in a large fight on Streatham High Road, SW16.

“Additional officers, including firearms officers, attended. A PCSO suffered minor injuries as officers attempted to apprehend those involved.

‘Three people were arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to a police station in south London.’
