Vicky Davey: Tragic update in case of woman who went missing during a bushwalk at Glenrock near Lake Macquarie

A body has been discovered during the search for a missing woman in the Lake Macquarie district of NSW.

Vicki Davey, 63, from the Lake Macquarie area disappeared while bushwalking on Wednesday.

Around noon on Friday, police discovered the body of a woman near a waterway in the Glenrock Nature Reserve near Kahibah.

The body has yet to be formally identified, but police believe it is that of the missing woman.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

Police were alerted when Ms Davey could no longer be contacted and began investigating her whereabouts

Mrs Davey last contacted on Wednesday around 11:30 am.

Police were alerted when she could no longer be contacted and began investigating her whereabouts.

A search operation led by the police and supported by SES was started at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
