People are absolutely disgusted after learning what ‘waffle mashing’ is – after a man revealed his wife’s disgusting showering habit

Social media users are shocked after hearing about ‘waffle mashing’, which doctors called ‘unsanitary’ and ‘a mistake’.

The topic sent the internet into a frenzy when Andrew Carpenter, a lawyer in Australia, recirculated a post on Reddit in which a man described his wife’s disgusting showering habit.

In the post, which was originally posted in 2022, the husband said their wife “poops in the shower and dumps it down the drain.” No joke.’

“She even told me the news while laughing about it,” the user wrote. “Do you know what a waffle stump is,” she asked me as she laughed and laughed so hard she started crying! I feel disgusted and betrayed.”

Doctors condemned the practice due to the risk of serious bacteria and infections such as E coli, salmonella and norovirus.

A Reddit post about “waffle stomping,” or pooping in the shower, recirculated on social media this week, prompting users and doctors to label the “disgusting” habit as “unsanitary” and “a mistake”

Dr. Stuart Fischer, an internist in New York, told DailyMail.com: “This is unhygienic and medically and cosmetically incorrect.”

A 2020 study conducted by QS supplies looked at the bathroom habits of 1,000 Americans and Britons, such as how often they bathe.

In addition to one in three people claiming to urinate in the shower, a startling one in thirty admitted to waffle mashing.

Dr. Fischer noted that waffle mashing is not only “ridiculous” but also means coming into contact with a variety of harmful pathogens. These can go through toenails and open wounds on the foot and cause infections.

One of the main bacteria found in feces is E coli, as it lives in the intestines of humans and animals. While many strains of E. coli are harmless, others can cause infection, such as the Shiga toxin-producing E. coli.

Symptoms of this infection include fever, diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting.

In some cases, patients may develop a kidney disease called hemolytic uremic syndrome. If left untreated, it can lead to kidney failure and death.

Additionally, feces have been shown to contain salmonella and noroviruses, the number of foodborne illnesses in the US.

“There are a lot of bacteria in human feces that can be fatal in some people,” Dr. Fischer said.

“This is absolutely a mistake.”

He also noted that if bacteria gets on the surface of a waffle masher’s base, it requires intense scrubbing to get it off, which can cause the disease to linger for days or weeks.

‘We must always make the right health choices. Even in the shower,” said Dr. Fischer.

Social media users were shocked to hear about waffle mashing.

“Divorce and restraining order,” a user named ana_gwugwu said on Mr. Carpenter’s Instagram repost.

Paige Gregory said, “So she just does it in the shower OR does she get in the shower to do it?!”

“That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard,” said shana.mamay.
