Darcy Moore came into contact with a magpie while filming for Channel 7 this week, although skeptical fans have cast doubt on a video of the Collingwood captain on social media.
Pies hero Moore, 28, was filming behind-the-scenes content for the broadcaster when the most unlikely situation occurred.
“We’re here today on set with Channel 7 and the boys are still preparing, so I’m going to use the time to show you all my goals,” he said. ‘It’s very useful as a keyback.’
At this point Moore runs over and kicks the ball before what looked like a magpie came in from above and stole Moore’s cap off his head.
Unsure of what had just happened, a bewildered Moore says, “What was that? Was that a magpie? No [way].’

But fans were not convinced of the video’s authenticity on social media
As Moore responded, his kick floated into the background and hit a nearby spotlight, which then slowly fell into the parking lot.
Moore reacts when he hears a loud crash.
‘Was that me? How did I even do that.’
The Pies skipper then heads to the car park to inspect the damage, with the windscreen of his white Toyota ute badly smashed.
Stunned, he remains speechless as the cameraman laughs.
But fans are questioning the veracity of the incident, with many taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – to mock Moore’s acting skills.
“I should take acting lessons from the Carlton strikers,” said one fan.
“The only real thing in this video is his parking skills,” said another.
A third fan joked: “The best acting was from the bird.”
“They’re real guys,” said a fourth fan. “Can confirm the car was me.”
