Apple launches new Beats headphones with 50-hour battery life that are nearly $300 less of the tech giant’s AirPods Max
Apple has released the next generation of its Beats Solo 4, boasting 50 hours of battery life at half the price of the tech giant’s AirPods Max.
The new over-ear headphones are listed for $200, compared to Apple’s official device which has an eye-watering price tag of $550.
Solo 4 is available in three colors: matte black, blue and pink, and is compatible with both iOS and Android phones.
The new Solo 4 Beats can be ordered starting Tuesday, with shipping within the US scheduled for Thursday, May 2.
The Beats Solo 4 is available in matte black, blue and pink and costs $200, down from the previous model which cost $300 when it was released in 2016.

Beats, bought by Apple in 2014, has also announced its cheapest earbuds yet, set to launch in June: Solo Buds.
“Our newly expanded Solo line offers remarkable value, delivering exceptional sound quality, battery life and comfort in our most portable designs,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Sports and Beats.
“Beats Solo 4 takes our best-selling headphones to the next level with outstanding performance upgrades, and the all-new Beats Solo Buds pack impressive power into our smallest product yet.”
The Solo 4 model has an ultra-lightweight design, weighing less than half a pound and offering personalized spatial audio, dynamic head tracking and a Find My Device feature.

Consumers no longer have to worry about running out of battery power as the ‘fast tank’ feature provides five hours of battery life after a quick 10-minute charge.
The headphones also don’t require a wall charger and can be charged directly from your phone, tablet or laptop – a feature that wasn’t available in the Solo 3 generation, which also cost $100 more.
Apple said the “Beats Solo 4 has been redesigned for incredible, high-fidelity acoustics” using 40-millimeter transducers that minimize the amount of distortion and provide better clarity and range when listening to music, movies and games.

The Beats Solo Buds will be released in June with a price tag of $80 and come equipped with a custom-designed microphone
Transducers, also called drivers, convert the sound waves into electrical signals sent to the ear, and the upgrade will provide “a truly interactive surround-sound experience,” Apple said.
Users will have to wait another month to purchase the Beats Solo Buds, which will cost $80 and come in matte black, gray, purple, and red.
The Solo Buds offer 18 hours of battery life, and a quick five-minute charge delivers one hour of battery life.
They’re equipped with a specially designed microphone that uses a noise-learning algorithm to provide better call quality than previous Apple earbuds and have a longer range from your phone, so there’s less dropout.
The company claimed that the packaging of the headphones will also be more environmentally friendly, claiming that it is made from 100 percent recycled fiber-based material sourced from sustainably managed forests.
Apple has previously said its goal is to be carbon neutral across its global operations by 2030, including the supply chain and life cycle of all its products.
