Braith Anasta addressed the elephant in the room in the first NRL360 show since Paul Kent was withdrawn from Fox Sports.
54-year-old Kent was involved in a street fight in Sydney on Saturday evening. reportedly arguing with a younger man outside the upscale Rozelle location, Totti’s.
Kent, who was previously fired by the broadcaster nine months after being accused of assaulting and strangling his ex-girlfriend, had only been reinstated as co-host of the show in February after being acquitted by the court.
A 35-year-old man was charged on Sunday as the police investigation into the incident continued.
And all eyes were on NRL360 – the show where Kent has famously voiced his views on all things rugby over the years – when his colleague Anasta opened the show without him.

Kent has been dropped by Fox Sports after being involved in a street fight
In a brief monologue on Monday night, Anasta acknowledged Kent’s absence from the show.
“Hello and welcome to NRL360,” he began, looking through the camera lens.
‘Paul Kent is not with us tonight. “Paul has resigned from Fox Sports as an investigation into an incident takes place this weekend.”
James Graham and Dean Ritchie filled the significant void left by Kent, with show regular Phil Rothfield also in the studio.
In the video, which circulated on social media on Sunday, a man, who appears to be Kent, can be seen calling a younger man a “dog face” before charging at him.
Employees could be seen trying to intervene before the two men exchanged blows in the street.
Kent has not been charged by police over the incident in Sydney’s inner west
The clip ends with the man who appears to be Kent being thrown into the base of a tree and the other man going outside.
In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, a spokesperson for Fox Sports and The Daily Telegraph said: “Fox Sports presenter and News Corp Australia columnist Paul Kent has stepped down pending an immediate investigation.”
Kent had spent much of 2023 away from NRL360 pending an investigation into alleged domestic violence against his former partner. The 54-year-old was found not guilty by the court.
