Cody Simpson has made a stunning confession about his future with Emma McKeon, explaining that he and his superstar girlfriend will be entering uncharted territory in just a few months after the 2024 Olympics.
The couple’s lives are about to undergo a major shake-up after the Paris Games, with McKeon revealing the event will be her last Olympiad.
Simpson is currently in a dogfight to make the Australian team and has not yet decided whether he will retire from swimming and return to his music career after the event.
However, he has hinted he could leave the sport, calling the Olympics a “fairytale ending” to his journey.

He also answered what his relationship with McKeon will look like next.
“I deliberately put a brick wall on either side of it, in the sense that I will do something about it when the time comes,” he told News Corp.
‘But never in my life have I not known what’s next.
‘Emma never had a life without swimming. I know what it’s like, but she’s never had it, so I’m glad she’s exploring her other interests and having the time to do so, because she never had it as a child.
“I’m fortunate to be someone who has a lot of things to look forward to, and another passion and career that I can pursue again depending on what I decide from the pool.
“I don’t know yet what I’m going to do, but I’ll make that decision later this year.”
But whatever happens, Simpson remains zen about his chances and insists he will go home happy even if he fails to make it to the Paris Olympics.
“In a sense, I really can’t fail, because I either succeed or fail to make the Olympic team this year,” Simpson said in a puzzling statement.

‘A fairytale ending would be nice, but it will happen or it won’t happen and that is the reality.
“There’s not much I can control other than giving it my all. So if that’s not enough in the day, that’s not enough in the day.
“But regardless, I really gave it everything I could to see what I can do in this sport and I’ve had a lot of success along the way.”
Before pausing his music career, Simpson had recorded four albums and played the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway musical Anastasia.
McKeon, Australia’s most decorated ever Olympian, considered giving up swimming after the Tokyo Games and took a break from the sport for a while before returning.
“I think what kept me going after Tokyo was that I felt like I had more to give and that I could go faster and do better,” she said.
“So that brought me back to the pool.
‘But it’s not really the motivation I rely on. It just means having my goals in mind and just being disciplined in knowing what I need to do to achieve those goals.”
