Sylvester Stallone is writing a tell-all memoir! Rocky actor, 77, will focus on his climb to the top in Hollywood as he drops ‘riveting anecdotes’

Sylvester Stallone writes a memoir.

The action star writes The Steps, inspired by the way his famous Rocky character runs up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the training sequence of the 1976 film. Page six shared on Friday.

The book will be similar to his good friend Arnold Schwarzenegger’s book Be Useful, it is claimed.

The likely page-turner is expected to hit shelves in 2025 HarperCollins’ imprint William Morrow.

The site added that the book had an intense bidding war between publishers

“The Steps provides readers with not only compelling anecdotes from one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but also invaluable insights and practical wisdom that will inspire and resonate with generations to come,” a source tells the site.

According to the publisher, ‘Sly will dig deep and give readers an intimate look into his life journey for the very first time.

“Since the release of Rocky in 1976, an extraordinary love affair has developed between Sly and the world, a unique bond that has lasted more than five decades and is a testament to Sly’s remarkable ability to uplift and motivate.”

Stallone made the museum’s steps famous by playing Rocky Balboa.

A statement about the book also said: “The famous 72 steps in Philadelphia from the movie Rocky have become symbolic of resilience and determination, and have inspired countless individuals.

“This memoir will be the culmination of decades of reflection since 12-year-old Sly sat on those steps and daydreamed about being a hero.”

It added: “The real story is about facing, embracing and ultimately overcoming life’s challenges step by step, and what we discover when we do: hope, happiness, proud humility, joy and love. ‘

His other hit films include Rambo, Tango & Cash, The Expendables and Creed.

He can also be seen on the reality TV show The Family Stallone, with his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and daughters, Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet.

This comes after Stallone and Schwarzenegger admitted they once competed to see who could lose more body fat during the heyday of their action films.

In a clip obtained by Page six of the upcoming special, TMZ presents: Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Iconsthe 76-year-old Terminator star and Sly shared their history of competing for their weight with host Harvey Levin.

The Hollywood legends tried to outdo the other in their action films in other ways, especially during the height of their careers in the 1980s.

Stallone admitted that at the height of their popularity he was down to 7 percent body fat, while Schwarzenegger was 10 percent.

“So it became a competition of the body,” the Jingle All The Way star said.

The two action stars were known for playing muscular heroes, such as John Rambo and Conan the Barbarian. The former California governor was a bodybuilder before making the jump to Hollywood and the Rocky star trained intensively to prepare for the demands of the role.

Their on-screen competition went so far that they had to try to outdo each other in the number of villains killed.

“We ended up saying, ‘Well, you killed 28 people in the movie; I killed 32,'” Schwarzenegger said.

“I have yet to top that,” Stallone interjected.

If Sly “killed 80 people” in a movie, the Arnold had to “kill 87 people.”

When the Rambo star used machine guns, the Terminator wanted one of his own, but bigger.

During the filming of Predator, he requested a gun normally mounted on a tank or a helicopter.

When the logistics of using the gun were brought up, the Kindergarten Cop star said, “Don’t worry about that, I need a bigger gun, a bigger gun than Sly used in Rambo.”

Their relationship, first a competition and later a friendship, began at the 34th annual Golden Globes when the two shared a table.

Rocky had a chance to win six prizes and the former Mr. Universe was up for the New Star of the Year award for his role in Stay Hungry.

He won and taunted the Italian stallion about Rocky’s losses. When the film won for its screenplay, the Cobra star threw flowers at Schwarzenegger.

The two continue their rivalry in the press and on screen. There is even speculation that the mean, muscular Ivan Drago in Rocky IV would be a replacement for the Schwarzenegger.

Despite their on-screen sniping, the action stars buried the hatchet to become investors and promoters of the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain, which opened its doors in the early 1990s.

The Judge Dredd star even showed his support for his friend by donating $15,000 to his former rival’s 2005 election campaign, and was invited to several inauguration events during Schwarzenegger’s tenure.

The two actors even starred together in The Expendables franchise later in their careers.
