Now with the Philadelphia Eagles, Barkley simply wrote, “Damn man.”
Giants cornerback Jason Pinnock also wrote a heartfelt tribute, sharing a photo of Cunningham on Instagram and writing, “This one hurt. No matter what you were going through, you had the biggest smile!
“You were the first person who came to help me move when I settled in New York. In the middle of camp and you wanted to join the team and learn a new playbook, you were the first one at my house to be ready.
“Take care of yourself and call your friends people, I love you brudda.”
The Giants were his last team – he was cut from their roster last August before the season started.
He only played for the Cardinals for a year after the draft, making six appearances, but was traded to the Patriots for a sixth-round pick in 2019.
He was on the roster in New England for two years before being released and ultimately signing for the Giants.
