Pine Lodge crash: Ruby Crowley’s loved ones pay tribute after teen killed in three-car smash near Shepparton, Victoria
The shattered loved ones of a 16-year-old girl who was tragically killed in a multi-vehicle collision have revealed she donated her organs to save the lives of six others.
Ruby Crowley was in an Uber heading to the supermarket with her stepfather Jarrod Stewart, 32, and another teenage passenger when the vehicle collided with two others at an intersection in Pine Lodge near Shepparton about two and a half hours later. driving north of Melbourne last Friday evening.
Ruby and Mr Stewart were airlifted to Melbourne before Ruby succumbed to her injuries two days later.
Her stepfather was put into an induced coma due to his serious injuries and only recently woke up at Alfred Hospital. It is expected that he will undergo multiple operations in the future.
Ruby’s death has led to an outpouring of tributes. The teen is survived by three younger siblings and her mother Amanda.
Ruby’s best friend Maddison Campbell said she had ‘her whole life to live’.

“We planned it, having kids and getting married at the same time, we were supposed to do it all together because she is my best friend, my rock,” she wrote.
‘There is a huge hole in our world right now, but no one’s world is more torn apart than her mother Amanda.
‘Not only was her partner involved in this horrific accident, but her daughter, with whom she shared an indescribable bond, was taken from her in an instant.’
Ruby chose to become an organ donor after recently getting her driver’s license.
The selfless act ultimately saved six lives.
“Even though my best friend is gone, she chose to donate whatever organs she could in the hopes that she could give the ultimate gift of life to someone else in need,” Maddison added.
“That was explained to Ruby in one action, she was just incredible.”

Ruby’s grieving mother Amanda Crowley also paid tribute to her “beautiful baby” who was her “rock” and adored by everyone.
“Ruby was able to donate and give six people a second chance at life… I am so incredibly proud of her,” she told the Herald Sun.
“Our family will never be the same again.”
Ruby’s friends have one GoFundMe to help with funeral costs, which have already raised more than $1,500.”
Another friend shared a heartfelt tribute, writing, “You will forever and ever be my best friend, my soulmate, my whole world.
“I will cherish you forever.”
The 30-year-old Uber driver and the occupants of the two other cars were slightly injured.
The other passenger in the car Ruby was in, an 18-year-old woman, was not injured in the crash.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
