Caleb Williams and new Bears teammate Rome Odunze shared a heartwarming moment during Thursday’s NFL Draft after the quarterback crashed the receiver’s media session.
Williams, who went No. 1 overall, was given a great passing weapon to work with when Odunze went to the Beats at No. 9 eight picks later.
And the quarterback was giddy as he met his new teammate for the first time, interrupting the former Washington star’s virtual press conference by walking up behind him, emphatically saying his name and letting out a scream.
The pair then shared a hug before exchanging some pleasantries.
“It’s time baby!” Williams said in one video posted to the Bears’ X account, before Odunze replied: “Let’s do it baby!”

The pair laughed as they mimed connecting for a touchdown pass on the field
The pair then mimed connecting for a touchdown pass before Williams put their partnership in some pretty lofty territory.
“LeBron, D-Wade,” he said, referring to the deadly Heat one-two punch of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Williams later took a more serious tone, saying, “Let’s have fun with it.” Hold each other accountable.”
Bears fans absolutely loved the clip and the early chemistry that Williams and Odunze displayed.

Not long after, Chicago moved Rome Odunze to ninth overall to further improve their offense
“I look forward to these two growing together and putting on a SHOW,” one wrote.
“The Beginning of a Dynasty,” another said.
“I literally can’t stop laughing, this is the best,” another fan said said .
When ESPN asked him what his first goal would be as a Bears quarterback, Williams said, “I’m learning all my teammates’ names.”
In addition to Odunze, he also wants to know the name of DJ Moore, the team’s No. 1 receiver who had 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
