Rosas was arrested Tuesday and is now charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree theft, carrying a loaded firearm in public and conspiracy to commit a crime — all felonies.

By the time police officers arrived on the scene, Rosas was discovered lying in the street with gunshot wounds, while a gun was found nearby.

The 4,709-square-foot home, located in the Newport Coast neighborhood, was rented by a family of wealthy Chinese nationals, according to DailyMail.com sources with knowledge of the matter.

Neighbors said they heard screams at the time the home invasion occurred on the usually quiet cul-de-sac, which is home to only 10 other sprawling townhouses.

“This is a targeted incident and it was isolated,” said Newport Beach Police Sgt. Steve Oberon told Fox11, adding that the family was not necessarily targeted for a robbery.

This was not the first time an incident occurred in Vista Luci’s home.

Sources said the same suspects also tried to accost the residents about ten days earlier.

Newport Beach police declined to comment due to their ongoing investigation.

The man who shot the intruder was evacuated from the home along with two women and a child and was not injured, police said.
