Uber reveals the strangest and most wonderful objects left in its vehicles this year: from a live TURTLE to a whole smoked pork belly
There’s nothing worse than taking an Uber home, only to discover upon arrival that you left a phone or bag in the car.
But if that’s happened to you, rest assured: you’re not alone.
Uber has revealed the strangest and most wonderful items left in its vehicles this year.
While clothes, luggage, headphones and wallets are the most forgotten items, it seems some Uber passengers haven’t just left the usual things behind.
“People forgot their frontal hair toupees, live turtles, containers of meat pies, containers of surgical implants and more,” Uber said.

Uber’s eighth annual Lost & Found Index provides a snapshot of the most popular (and most surprising) items left on Ubers this year.
Clothes, luggage, headphones, wallets and jewelry top the list of most forgotten items, followed by phones, cameras, tablets or books, laptops and vapes.
However, it’s the list of the most ‘unique’ lost items that will likely attract the most attention.
Several wearable items were left in Ubers, including a hair toupee, a fake tooth, a furry foxtail, a fake butt and a thong.
Props from shows or concerts were also left behind, ranging from a folding Beyoncé fan to a framed signature of Taylor Swift.
Other forgotten items were downright bizarre.
One user left a fart sensor, while another reported a missing Jeep Liberty engine.
And a confusing report simply said: “I left a much-needed sheet in your car.”
Unsurprisingly, several food items were left in vehicles, including a whole smoked pork belly, a pan of chicken spaghetti and a tray of meat pies.

‘I accidentally left some pasta in the back. Feel free to have it! It was so delicious and I didn’t eat the plate. Thanks again!’ one user wrote to his driver.
Strangely enough, the index shows that riders are much more likely to forget things on certain days and times.
“January 21 is the most forgetful day of the year, when most lost items are recorded,” Uber said.
“The most popular times of day for lost items to be reported were 9pm and 10pm.”
If you leave something in a vehicle, Uber says the best way to retrieve it is to call the driver.
To do this, open the Uber app and tap ‘Activity’ in the bottom icon menu.
Select the trip where you lost the item and scroll down to ‘Find Lost Item’ in the Help menu, then to ‘Contact the Driver About a Lost Item’.
Enter your phone number to call the driver.
Once they pick up the item and confirm it has been found, you can arrange a mutually convenient time and place to meet.
If they don’t answer, please leave a detailed voicemail describing your item and the best way to contact you.
“Whether it’s your foldable Beyoncé fan or a whole smoked pork belly, we want to help you reunite your prized possessions!” Added Uber.
