Footy hard man Mitch Robinson wanted to drink lots of beer after having his first pro boxing fight two weeks ago – and you won’t believe what he looks like now

- Former footy star played in the AFL at 90kg
Former Brisbane and Carlton hard man Mitch Robinson has undergone a surprising physical transformation since his first professional boxing fight.
The 34-year-old hard man announced his retirement from the AFL at the end of Brisbane’s 2022 campaign after being delisted.
Robinson has since channeled his energy into boxing and recently showed off his skills by upsetting more experienced opponent and former footy star Kayne Pettifer at The Gathering fight night on April 3.
The tough nut had a tough task ahead of him in Pettifer, who had an unblemished record after three fights but showed on the judges’ scorecards his natural ability to win the fight comfortably.

Robinson, who had his first professional fight two weeks ago at 87kg, is now down to 81kg (pictured)
After the fight, Robinson explained that he took the fight so seriously that he had not touched a drop of alcohol for over a month.
“We’ll have a few beers,” he said.
“I haven’t had a drink in eight weeks, so I definitely fancy a beer.”
On Wednesday, two weeks after the fight, Robinson posted a photo of himself on social media – and it appears he has remained a teetotaler.
“Well, I just finished the shredding phase!” Posting next to himself, Robinson looked absolutely chiseled.
‘Trying to get to the lowest comfortable weight in ten weeks, without being stupid. 81 kg this morning!
‘I don’t know what the future holds, but in the meantime I want a different kind of challenge.’
Robinson’s followers were impressed with his results.
“You look better now than when you played!… mid-season draft is definitely the way to go,” one follower replied.
“Skinny, mean fighting machine,” said another.
Robinson, who felt at home in the ring, is eager to get another fight soon
‘Shredded but brah, those 8 packs are madness!’ wrote a third.
Robinson, who said he felt like he lost his identity when he finished playing football, has indicated he is definitely interested in getting back in the ring.
“I don’t know who’s in my weight class for the NRL, but AFL versus NRL would be a good decision I think,” he said after the win over Pettifer.
“I know I’d like to go up against those guys, I know they’ll probably fill up a little bit before us, but they can pack a punch.
