One TikTok influencer has found a way to track your flight and share flight details with your loved ones as easily as sending a single text message.
“Next time you travel, text yourself your airline and flight number,” he said in a new video posted to the social platform. “Then tap it and click ‘Preview Flight.’
Not to be confused with your ticket or booking reference number, your airline and flight number are a six-character alphanumeric code consisting of two letters describing the airline and a one- to four-digit number describing your flight route.
For example, American Airlines always appears as ‘AA’ in a flight number.
You (and any friends or family you send this flight number to) can tap ‘View Flight’ to see the latest information about flight departure time, arrival time and even which baggage claim area your luggage is going to. .

“Next time you travel, text your airline and flight number,” the TikTok influencer said in a new video post. “Then tap it and click ‘Preview Flight.’ You and all loved ones to whom you send this flight number can view the latest information about the flight
“All your flight details appear here, so you don’t have to look at the airport screens,” TikTok user Aakaanksh Autade, passing by @kaansanity on the platform, posted on Tuesday.
“If your flight is delayed, it will let you know here,” Autade continued, adding that the fact you can send the code to friends and family “is the best part.”
However, commenters and @kaansanity fans alike became embroiled in a heated debate over where exactly Apple’s iPhone flight tracking trick is available.
A TikTok user named Diana Monté claimed that the hack “doesn’t work outside the US as far as I know.”
But others reported their experiences with successfully implementing the iPhone Shortcut in Canada, Ireland and Sweden. However, several other users noted that they had problems using the hack at airports in Britain.
A few commenters offered their own solution for those countries, recommending the free flight radar tracking app FlightRadar24.
