Dele Alli claimed Chelsea players were ‘showing their age’ as they argued over who would take a penalty in Monday’s 6-0 thrashing of Everton.
Three Blues stars were involved in a pushing match when Noni Madueke was fouled in the penalty area and an argument broke out over who would take the resulting penalty.
Madueke and Nicolas Jackson were then involved in a heated argument when they began pushing each other, forcing Conor Gallagher and Malo Gusto to break up the public altercation at Stamford Bridge.
Cole Palmer eventually grabbed the ball and stepped up to smash a goal past Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to score his fourth goal of the match.
Injured Everton star Alli provided some analysis on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football as he gave an honest assessment of the Chelsea stars’ unruly behavior.

“To me they are showing their age,” Alli said as he gave his analysis of the incident.
‘I’m not on the training pitch every day and I don’t know who the designated penalty taker is.
“As far as I know in the last big match, when there was pressure in the last minute, I didn’t see them all fighting to get the win,” he added.
Alli then gave some heartfelt advice to the rival strikers as he watched Everton slump to a disappointing defeat at Stamford Bridge, continuing: ‘It’s okay if it’s 4-0 and you want to get on the scoresheet. If you want to get on the scoresheet, don’t do it when it’s 4-0 in a no-pressure situation.
“It’s a shame because they had a great night and people are talking about this instead of their great performance,” he said.
Pochettino later regretted after the match that he will punish Chelsea players who cross the line in such a way again.
Jamie Carragher echoed similar criticism of Chelsea players, labeling them ‘crazy’ for disputing who should receive penalties.
“It’s stupid, I mean, come on guys. Pochettino is asked about this after the match.
“They just won 6-0 and it’s their best result of the season, a great night for everyone.”
