Blair previously opened up about her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, revealing that she brought home the Labrador Retriever at the end of 2021 to help her when she suffered from a ‘cramp’.
According to the Mayo ClinicMS is ‘a potentially debilitating disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system).’
MS causes “the immune system to attack the protective layer (myelin) that covers nerve fibers, causing communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body.”
In October 2022, Blair spoke with Entertainment tonight about her experience with the disease and said her dog Scout stays by her side in case she feels faint or “very disoriented.”
“The thing is, I faint a lot,” she explained.
“It’s part of the reason I have Scout and it doesn’t mean I lose consciousness [or] it’s a whole ambulance experience,” she continued.

She’s also previously talked about her precious pooch, saying he’s an “amazing gift” to her
‘It’s something [wherein] I lose my vision, gravity pulls me down and I am very disoriented and lost for a while.”
Earlier that year, in May 2022, Blair said People that Scout is a “great gift” to her.
“It’s a big undertaking, and he’s still young, not even two, but he’s an amazing gift,” she told the outlet.
“He’s with me all the time,” she added. ‘If I fall into a big trap [muscle] cramps or have trouble moving and need to recalibrate, he can get between my legs, help me stand up and balance me.’
Thanks to Scout, she said she and her family members feel more reassured about her safety amid her MS battle.
“It’s given me a lot of independence,” she said. “When my son goes to see his dad, he loves knowing Scout is by my side. And I didn’t know he was concerned about my mobility or safety.”
