Gunfire broke out on the first floor of the garage after screams were heard Monday, according to St. Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer.

St Charles, a city of approximately 70,493 residents, is located about 30 minutes northwest of St. Louis.

No injuries have been reported.

There remains a large police presence at the parking garage, which serves City Hall.
