Maybe the NHS can’t wait to take me off the list | Short letters

At first I was pleasantly surprised when I asked on my NHS app if I still wanted to remain on a waiting list for minor surgery (almost 10 million people in England could be on the NHS waiting list, April 3). I now wonder if this had more to do with the government’s method of reducing waiting lists than with my medical needs.

My mother came home from her job as an English teacher very angry about a decision made by senior management (Letters, April 11). She sat down and wrote two poems: Elegy on the Death of a Senior Mistress, and Epitaph for a Head. When she felt much better, she continued preparing our evening meal.

As for the suggestion of dash-mounted chippers for those with anger management issues, I have a small dash-mounted Buddha that, just by touching it, dissipates all anger and provides satellite navigation to the moral high ground.
