The Block rocked amid claims contestants have QUIT just two weeks into filming at Phillip Island

The Block has been rocked with claims that contestants have left the track just two weeks after filming.

Filming for the Channel Nine show, which is underway on Phillip Island, has been disrupted after a couple quit the series. Yahoo lifestyle reports.

‘A couple left. However, they certainly weren’t kicked off the show, it was done of their own accord,” a supposed source told the publication this week.

The source claimed that the drama will “unfold” during the show and there is no news on whether the couple has been recast.

If contestants have indeed dropped out, it will be the second time the series has been rocked by an early departure.

Influencer Elle Ferguson and her boyfriend, former AFL player Joel Patfull, left The Block days after filming began on the 2022 season.

The beloved renovation series will make a triumphant return to TV screens later this year, twenty years after it first premiered.

Nine has confirmed that just five teams will compete to convert five properties at the former Island Cove Villas on Phillip Island.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that a company owned by Channel Nine has bought Island Cove Villas for a whopping $9.5 million.

Located two and a half hours from Melbourne, thThe site currently has nine homes, a communal swimming pool, a BBQ pavilion, a tennis court and a children’s playground.

It comes after 2023 winner Steph and Gian Ottavio’s genius tactics threatened to derail the 2024 season of the Channel Nine series as future contestants could try to follow in their footsteps.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Monday, Steph and Gian revealed their foolproof strategy to win the renovation show.

“When we got the call that we were on The Block in February, the first thing we did, I think three days later, was we called Tom Panos, our auctioneer,” they said.

They continued, “He was the first person we called and engaged, and people probably wouldn’t think that.”

The tactic paid off tenfold: the Sydney couple took home The Block crown when they sold their Hampton East home for $5 million.

The friends from western Sydney made a shocking $1.6 million profit when they sold their Gisborne home during season 18 of The Block in 2022.
