Cong always insulted Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, we honored him, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Congress has always insulted Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar but his government has honored him.

Addressing a rally in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh, Modi also said that the Congress has never recognized the contribution of adivasis (tribals) but the BJP government has honored them.

“The Congress has always insulted Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, we have honored him,” Modi said on the birth anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution made a tribal woman the President of India, he said, referring to the election of Droupadi Murmu to the country’s highest constitutional post.

“Congress says if I become prime minister for the third time, the country will be on fire,” Modi said, targeting the opposition party.

“The (opposition) INDI alliance is not in a position to decide in which direction the country should move,” he said.

The slogan ‘Phir ek baar, Modi sarkar’ has resonated across the country, the Prime Minister said.

“We should have nuclear weapons to protect our country; those who say otherwise cannot protect India,” he further said, referring to a member of the opposition bloc INDIA, which has promised complete elimination of nuclear weapons in its manifesto.

“Modi doesn’t have any dreams; your dreams are my mission,” the Prime Minister told the gathering.

He said the government will celebrate 2025 as the ‘Janjatiya Gourav Diwas’ to mark the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
