Transgender husband and wife who’ve just welcomed a baby with their live-in girlfriend and all share one cramped bed reveal the tensions and strain their very modern family
A transgender man and woman who just welcomed a baby with their live-in biological girlfriend revealed the tensions in their “very modern family” as they share a cramped bed in a small Brooklyn apartment.
A group consisting of a woman, a transgender man and a transgender woman welcomed a son together on April 3, named Rochbert Joseph Ozymandias, or Rocco.
Grace Lavery, who was born male but now identifies as female, and her former aunt husband Daniel Lavery, who was born female but now identifies as male, started dating in 2018 when they were both in the middle of transitioning .
They tied the knot a year later, but in 2021 the couple, who live in Brooklyn, New York, decided to add a third person to their romance: a woman named Lily Woodruff.
Their living conditions and close working environment have led to some tension. Danny and Lily had their first real argument about recycling in December.
In a candid conversation with The cut, Danny admitted he was a ‘d***’ sometimes, as he and Lily tiptoed around each other a bit.

Grace and Lily first became intimate after meeting online a year after Grace and Danny’s wedding, The Cut reported.
“There were ways I still felt like you and I were together in our ‘company ways’ sometimes,” as Danny explained his relationship with Lily.
“I think the outcome has been very positive,” Lily said.
“I’m really sorry we had to go through my life,” Danny added.
Their nighttime routines vary, with one partner going to bed early to brush their teeth while the others enjoy a late meal before finally going to bed together.
Danny told The Cut that he brushes his teeth at 8:30 p.m., while Lily and Grace often eat dinner around 10 p.m. Then Danny crawls into bed around midnight.
Danny described the household as ‘lesbian dominant’, but explained that it is not about asserting dominance, but about recognizing their shared background and experiences within lesbian life.
“I don’t mean that in the sense that we’re dominant lesbians,” he told The Cut. “I’m just saying that we all have enough background in lesbians and the process of lesbian school, which is something that not all lesbians do or need to do or should do, but it does exist. I think we all like it.”

Grace previously revealed Lily was expecting in December, describing their impending arrival at the time as “the happiest baby in the tri-state area”

The trio expects that their son will one day notice the uniqueness of their family dynamic, especially since they all live and work closely together in a one-bathroom apartment.
Danny said, “There will absolutely, I’m sure, come a day when our son says, ‘I went to someone else’s house and they don’t do this all day. I didn’t know you could live with such beautiful silence. Perhaps that is one of the ways in which heterosexuality will reintroduce itself into our homes.’
The group also discussed how they could afford to stay in New York with a baby, with writer Danny “getting a job,” The Cut reported.
Grace shared the news of their newborn via Instagram in early April, writing, “Friends. Allow me to introduce you to Rochbert Joseph Ozymandias. Rocco for you.
They called the newborn the “happiest baby in the Tri-State area” at the time.
“His consciousness was merged with the flesh of the world at 7 a.m. this morning, April 3, at which time he weighed eight pounds and five ounces.
“He has blue eyes, prehensile fingers, a laissez-faire attitude toward pronouns, the soft aroma of late summer plums, a sleepy smile, and a sweet, gentle temperament befitting one of his undoubted rank and stature.
‘He’s the greatest human being I’ve ever met. His father, Daniel, and his Lala, Lily, share my exuberance. Hail Rocco. We will try to remember it for you and learn with you.’

“Friends, I have some exciting news: we’re having a baby,” she said, sharing a photo of Lily cradling her baby bump.
“One of the many exciting elements of this blessing is the opportunity to see my partners, whom I love so dearly, become father and mother – Lily visible, and all of us with joyful and inspired hearts.
“Keep our multilateral parenting team in your hearts and minds until early April… We look forward to introducing you to the gayest baby in the Tri-State area soon.”
The group often documents their relationship online, where they have amassed a combined 28,000 followers.
Many of their followers flooded the post with their happy reactions.
“I’m so excited for you guys. Watching your relationship blossom and blossom has been so beautiful,” one person wrote.
