The Masters 2024: Watch Viktor Hovland miss a TAP-IN from INCHES away from the hole as frustrated Norwegian suffers humiliating second-round collapse at Augusta

Viktor Hovland suffered a second-day collapse at The Masters, including a missed putt by just inches at Augusta.

The Norwegian finished the second round eight over par – meaning he was just wide of the weekend by two shots – after a nine over par 81 on Friday.

Hovland made two double bogeys and a triple bogey as he slid down the rankings and bid farewell to his hopes of winning the green jacket.

The 26-year-old’s round reached a low point at the par-five 15th, when he had a short putt to make par – and remained on the +6 cutline.

Hovland’s putt clipped the left edge of the cup and stopped a few inches on the wrong side of the hole.

The Norwegian marched over to slam it in, without even breaking stride or putting his left hand on the putter.

But the ball rolled back past the hole and ended up further away than it started. Luckily, Hovland stopped the bleeding there.

Despite appearing to laugh at his terrible blunder, the Norwegian controlled himself to escape with a double bogey.

He flashed a wry smile after taking the ball from the cup and continued to par the last three holes. Despite avoiding further damage, the Norwegian still missed the cut by two shots.

Hovland wasn’t the only player to have a second-round meltdown at Augusta. Wyndham Clark and Sergio Garcia also missed the weekend after miserable rounds on Friday.
