Rafael Leao confronted a journalist after AC Milan’s loss to Roma in the Europa League.

The Rossoneris were defeated by their league rivals at San Siro in the first leg of the quarter-final on Thursday evening.

Leao had a performance to forget and was taken off the field after 78 minutes to be replaced by Noah Okafor.

The Portugal international was walking through the mixing area after the match when he told a journalist: “Do your job well.”

Manager Stefano Pioli was asked why he replaced Leao and Christian Pulisic when they were chasing a crucial equalizer.

‘Pulisic and Leao have confidence. Players like her, even on a difficult night, can make a big play,” he said.

“I made the changes when I thought it was right.”

Leao has suffered from inconsistency for Milan this season after a super campaign last season.

The 24-year-old winger has scored just six goals in Serie A, compared to 15 goals last season.

Gianluca Mancini’s header in the 17th minute sealed a 1-0 victory for Roma, ensuring Roma could be assured of playing for it again next week.

Milan, who are second in Serie A, are back in action this weekend when they take on relegation-threatened Sassuolo at San Siro.
