Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy dances around question if Taylor Swift will play role of Dazzler in Marvel film: ‘That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview’
Shawn Levy was asked about the chances of Taylor Swift appearing in his upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine, but did not answer.
The director, 55, joins in the conversation Entertainment tonight on Thursday at CinemaCon in Las Vegas following the convention’s Big Screen Achievement Awards.
The native of Montreal, Canada, was asked about rumors linking Swift, 34, to the role of Marvel Comics character Dazzler, after she appeared alongside him and the film’s stars Hugh Jackman, 55, and Ryan Reynolds, 47. seen during an NFL game on October 1.
“That is hardly confirmed or denied in this interview,” says Levy, who previously worked on the Netflix hit Stranger Things.
The director of films like Free Guy, The Pink Panther and Cheaper by the Dozen referenced Reynolds by saying, “I’m literally going to walk around outside the frame and save myself or Ryan’s going to get punched. [out] on me.’

The Montreal, Canada native was asked about rumors that Swift, 34, has been linked to the role of Marvel Comics character Dazzler after she was spotted with him and the movie stars at an NFL game on Oct. 1
Levy was among the notable names who accompanied the Grammy Award-winning singer to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs in a road game against the New York Jets last fall.
Also spotted with the Shake It Off singer and filmmaker of the game – which the Chiefs won 23-20 – were the film’s leads, as well as Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner.
“All that is known is that I went to a football game, and those hours were well documented and that’s all I’m going to say,” Levy told the outlet. ‘What can I say? I think intrigue is fun.”
Levy spoke to the outlet after receiving the Director of the Year Award at the convention’s Big Screen Achievement Awards.
Fans have picked up a number of links to Swift and the potential project, according to ET: In one case, Reynolds and Jackman announced that the film was shot in a house where Swift shot the music video for 2021’s All Too Well: The Short Film.
Levy was previously requested by the point of sale on how the NFL game featured a collaboration with Swift: “That was just a Sunday night with some friends, it turned into much more.
“I just want to say that the increase in rumors about Deadpool 3’s casting is hilarious, and also very helpful, because now people can’t tell what’s real and what’s not.”
He added about the rumors, “So I can just sit back and let the wave of accuracy and untruth wash over me.”

The film is the third in the Deadpool franchise, following 2016’s Deadpool and 2018’s Deadpool 2.
A preview of the film was one of the commercials that aired in February during Super Bowl LVIII, which was won by Kelce’s Chiefs.
Reynolds and Jackman are joined in the cast of the upcoming superhero film by Morena Baccarin, Matthew Macfadyen, Jennifer Garner, Rob Delaney and Emma Corrin, according to iMDb.
Deadpool & Wolverine premieres nationwide on July 26.
