Spirit Airlines employee snaps and curses at ‘Karen’ during boarding pass check as workers deal with string of bad behaviors at airport and on planes

A Spirit Airline employee at a Florida airport exploded on a passenger during a dispute over the latest incident of poor airport conduct.

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport employee was criticized online after she “lost the moral high ground” in a video shared on TikTok on Tuesday.

In a video from April 9, the employee can be seen forcefully asking to see the pilot’s boarding. The two got into an argument where they walked shoulder to shoulder with their weight against the other person. It ended when the employee told the flyer ‘f*** you too.’

According to the TikTok poster, the aviator was the person who sparked the incident.

“The airline employee then came back and in a sense did not let the passenger walk away. This is a really bad look for #spiritairlines but what do I know,” he wrote.

The employee’s outburst comes after a series of bad behavior on planes and at airports by customers, often directed at staff and police.

The videographer claimed that the flier said something rude to the Spirit Airline employee, prompting her to become a “Karen.”

“Okay, so this Spirit employee was really offended because this lady said something rude to her,” the TikToker shared. “I think she’s going a little too far, though. I think she’s going to avoid being on the plane, which I think is a bit of abuse [of power].’

As the employee began writing down information, she repeatedly told the pilot that she wanted to see her boarding pass. The worker walks with the traveler who says that she will not miss her plane because of the worker.

The employee continues walking along the path while the employee writes down the pass numbers. The confrontation ends with the employee cursing the customer and walking away.

“I understand that passengers can be VERY rude, but 99% of the people who saw this were unaware of what the passenger initially said,” read the TikTok description.

Although some claim the customer said something to the employee, nothing can be heard on the video before the swearing. The filmmaker then asks the woman what she said, the customer just laughs, scoffs and walks away.

The videographer claimed the employee initiated the confrontation, and it is unclear what happened before the video began.

Daily Mail has contacted Spirit Airlines for comment.

Airport officials said they were unable to view the TikTok video due to Florida regulations. The state has banned the social media app on government devices.

Multiple TikTok users have criticized the Spirit Airline employee for her actions, with a few critics claiming they were agents themselves.

‘I worked as an agent for five years. Had to stop. It’s definitely not for this week,” one TikToker wrote.

Others have supported the traveler and even written about her “good looks.”

‘That woman is beautiful!!!!!! And she stayed calm! She’s amazing!’ wrote one person.

They added: “That little look from 9 seconds to 13 seconds – and then towards the end… she’s beautiful!”

One user seemingly didn’t want to comment on the video and instead decided to diss Spirit Airlines as a whole.

“I can’t fly a ghost. all my anger management classes didn’t prepare me for it,” they wrote.

The viral incident is the latest airport confrontation to make headlines. This often involves passengers blowing up at workers or the police who come to arrest them.

Last month, a woman aboard a Spirit Airlines flight from Las Vegas had a frenzied meltdown on board and screamed the n-word as police tried to drag her off the plane.

In a March 23 video that has gone viral online, a female passenger riding a Spirit Airlines plane had an explosive outburst that caused those around her to film and chuckle.

At the beginning of the footage, the panicked woman shouts ‘let this go’ and ‘can I do that with freedom?’ while police try to diffuse the situation. “All I care about is freedom,” she screeched.

The explosive meltdown happened after she allegedly tried to bite the person sitting next to her.

When one of the officers told her she was under arrest, the passenger said, “That’s fine! I’ve been there before.’

She then looked at the surrounding passengers with crazed eyes before chaotically shouting, “I’m not afraid!” I’ve been there before,” as she stood up and stared at the people in line behind her.

Suddenly, the woman turned up her volume even more to tell the passengers that the officer, who she shockingly called the n-word, was twisting her elbows.

“He’s hurting my wrist,” she whimpered.

“You’re hurting me Sheriff. You’re hurting me, sheriff,” she shouted as police tried to put handcuffs on her.

The panicked passenger then threw her head back and screamed in fear.

She then said “I can’t breathe” twice, despite police barely touching her.

It’s unclear what caused the meltdown, but the flight had not yet departed when the passenger started causing a scene. The man who posted the video said all passengers had to get out so police could deal with the woman.

There was also the viral Tiffany Gomas incident on an American Airlines flight in 2003.

Gomas, 38, flew in July to go on holiday with her family but lost it during the flight due to an ‘altercation’ in what she had now described as ‘the worst moment’ of her entire life.

The Dallas marketing manager told Inside Edition that when she said the other passenger was “not real,” she meant it in a manner of speaking, meaning “he wasn’t real.”

Gomas revealed that she stayed home for more than four weeks after her crazy meltdown.

“I stayed home for more than four weeks because I was so embarrassed and ashamed that I didn’t want to go out in public,” Gomas told Inside Edition.

When asked what prompted the sudden outburst, Gomas said: “I had an altercation and I had a very strong feeling that I had to get off the plane.”

She explained that she believed other people on the flight were in danger ‘because of the altercation’ – but said she could not say anything more for ‘legal reasons’.

Since her episode, Gomas has proven that she has a good sense of humor. “I got through this whole thing by laughing at myself,” she said.

While watching the viral video of her meltdown, she joked, “I can’t hear that voice.”

The star of the famous video said “I’m actually a big homebody” as she showed Inside Edition her luxurious Dallas home – complete with a beautiful home office and movie theater.

But despite calling herself a “pet,” she said, “I love traveling — just not on American” — because American Airlines banned her after the incident.
