Nicola’s character Penelope is then seen in a rage as she says: ‘I can’t live at home anymore. I must get a husband!’
In perfect timing, the object of her affection Colin is then seen undressing in a car showing off his muscles, while his brother jokingly asks him when he got so ‘firm’.
Penelope then becomes upset with her struggle to find a husband, while Colin offers to help her, saying, “If you want a husband, let me help you.” Aren’t we friends?’
The following scenes show Penelope struggling to attract a suitor with quite a few awkward encounters as she says to Colin as she looks at him admiringly, “I wouldn’t be mad if you found out I’m a lost cause …’
The tension between them continues to rise when Colin’s sister Eloise expresses her concerns about whether Penelope is actually looking for a husband in him.
The next scene shows Penelope transforming into a series of beautiful dresses in hopes of attracting attention as Colin begins to notice her beauty.
Colin then asks his mother, “Mother, do you believe that friendship is the best basis for love?”, before she advises him, “It’s rare, but you have to follow your heart!”

It comes after 37-year-old Nicola admitted she is ‘terrified of the criticism’ as she steps into the role of leading lady for the first time, but wants to prove that ‘sometimes the odd man out in the corner can take center stage’.
Nicola honestly admitted: ‘Yes, I am terrified of the criticism, the opinions, the number of eyes on me; but what ultimately makes me step out of the shadows, even though it scares me, is that I’m so proud of the work I’ve done, the people I’ve worked with and these beautiful shows we’ve created. made.
‘I hope that, together with myself, I can show the world that sometimes the odd man out in the corner can take center stage.’
Discussing her role as the beloved Penelope, she explained how this shooting sequence for the hit Netflix show was completely different to the first two, and Nicola had to push herself out of her comfort zone to be in the spotlight.
‘The big difference is that in the first two seasons Pen was a supporting character, the odd one out, but this time she is very much the center of attention.
‘The only problem with this is that “stranger in the corner” is actually a niche that I’m very good at. I’m comfortable there! “Strange girl that no one pays attention to? Where can I sign up?”.
This week, Nicola also detailed her character Penelope’s upcoming steamy scenes in the show’s third season.
The star spoke to Entertainment Weekly about filming the sex scenes, revealing that they even broke furniture while getting hot and heavy.
Contrary to some actors’ aversion to filming sex scenes, Nicola revealed that she found filming with Luke ‘fun and empowering’.
She said: ‘We broke a piece of furniture while we were doing one of those scenes. I didn’t know what it would be like, but it’s kind of like a stunt where they say, ‘Okay, we’re going to do this, this and this’…
‘But then they gave us the freedom to like, we had a lot of say in how we did those scenes and what we wanted to do…
“And that makes you feel quite powerful and you’re like, ‘Oh yeah, we’re going to do this, this and this.’ So we felt great. They were actually really nice. I didn’t think they would be. They were great. It was fun.’
Before discussing the raunchy moments, Nicola appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen to discuss life as Lady Penelope.
She hilariously gave her character’s alias, Lady Whistledown, a Real Housewives catchphrase, saying, “I may be behind the feather, but I’m always ahead of the gossip.”
Bridgerton is known for its racy scenes and Nicola asked the producers for a ‘PG’ version so she could enjoy the show with her mother.
It came after Nicola revealed series three of Bridgerton will be even grittier than the previous two.
The actress previously admitted she was initially terrified of filming sex scenes with Luke Newton, who plays her love interest Colin Bridgerton.
Nicola shared: ‘I think we’ve won the sass for this series! I’m so excited, I can’t wait. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Luke Newton, who plays my love interest, is so great.
The first part of the third series of Bridgerton, starring Nicola, will be released on Netflix in mid-May.
Nicola added: ‘This season is really funny and romantic, they’ve incorporated a lot of rom-com. And it’s not something to watch with the family. Take what you will from that.
Colin then asks his mother, “Mother, do you believe that friendship is the best basis for love?”, before she advises him, “It’s rare, but you have to follow your heart!”
Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte) also returns for series three of the Netflix show
The trailer left out all the highly sexual scenes, leaving fans wanting more
Colin and Penelope will take center stage in the next series
‘It was terrifying. I’m an Irish woman, and any Irish woman would feel like she can’t do this. And then I went and realized: it’s my job, so I can do it better. I had an amazing partner and it was terrifying, but really liberating. At the end I was exhausted.’
The third series of the hit Regency novel, which follows the eight Bridgerton siblings as they try to find love, continues the love story of Penelope and Colin.
Phoebe Dynevor, 28, starred in the period drama in series one – in which she took part in multiple sex scenes with actor Rege-Jean Page, 35.
In the final episode of series two, following the eldest Bridgerton son, Penelope overheard old friend Colin’s snide comments to the other gentlemen about her and decided to finally give up her unrequited feelings for him.
