Glamorous violinist Evangeline Victoria has gone viral after her spine-tingling performance of a rock classic ahead of the A-League Men’s Melbourne derby at AAMI Park on April 6.
Victoria’s rendition of The White Stripes’ bumper song Seven Nation Army prior to kick-off thrilled the crowd and the vision quickly exploded online.
By Wednesday morning, the clip had already been viewed more than 562,000 times on the website official page A-League on X, with many football and music fans impressed by what happened.
Victoria told Ny Breaking Australia she was overwhelmed by the positive feedback – and amazingly it was the first time she had performed the iconic rock song in public.
“My manager got a call a few days before the game and he very casually told me there was an opening,” she said.

Remarkably, the talented musician confirmed to Ny Breaking Australia that it was the first time she had publicly performed The White Stripes’ iconic song Seven Nation Army on the violin.
“He kept it at the lowest level that I would perform in front of 25,000 football fans.
‘I’ve always loved the song, but had never played it before.
‘I [eventually] saw the vision and was very pleased with it [crowd response] felt good.’
The Melbourne-based musician has been playing the violin for 21 years and is looking forward to performing in Europe later this year.
‘Since the [Covid] Once the lockdowns were over, I mainly played at weddings,” she said.
‘Music is my life, so it’s humbling to be able to make my dream come true.
‘I certainly didn’t expect this kind of attention, but I don’t intend to just ride the wave, I want this [attention] be permanent.’
American band The White Stripes released Seven Nation Army in 2003 and it quickly became synonymous with football fans worldwide.
The same year, supporters of Belgium’s Club Brugge gathered at a bar in Italy ahead of their team’s UEFA Champions League group stage match against European giants AC Milan.
While enjoying a few beers, the song was played on a speaker – and the rest is history.
Club Brugge held on for a famous 1-0 win at San Siro that evening, and delighted supporters began playing non-stop on the court.
When the World Cup took place in Germany a few years later, it was a popular circuit with many supporters of the world game, with Italy becoming eventual champions after beating France on penalties in the 2006 final.
The catchy tune soon found its way to other sports in the US, namely NBA and NFL – and in 2009 band member Jack White confirmed that the song originated in Melbourne during a soundcheck prior to a concert during an Australian tour.
