A number of major Manchester United players could be sold this summer, according to reports.
It has been another struggling season for the Red Devils this season, as they have failed to build on their third-place finish last season in their second season under Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils sit sixth in the Premier League, eleven points behind Tottenham and Aston Villa, who are level on points in the race for a place in the top four.
United’s chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League appear to have faded and with this in mind, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly planning a major squad overhaul.
According to Manchester Evening Newsas many as seven first-team stars could be shown the exit door at Old Trafford, as well as a number of players who were allowed to leave for free.

Tom Heaton, Anthony Martial and Brandon Williams all have contracts that expire in the summer and are likely to be released by Erik ten Hag’s side.
Heaton has played a small role for the Red Devils – having made just three appearances since joining in June 2021 – and is considered surplus to requirements.
Martial has been plagued by injuries in recent years and the club feel it is not worth extending his contract.
Williams was loaned out to Championship club Ipswich this season, where he failed to impress and recently appeared in court over allegations he inhaled nitrous oxide before being involved in a high-speed car crash.
In addition to the three players leaving for free, the outlet claims that Omari Forson, Alvaro Fernandez, Hannibal Mejbri, Donny van de Beek, Jadon Sancho, Facundo Pellistri and Mason Greenwood could all leave this summer.
The majority of these players are currently on loan, but are likely to leave on a permanent deal after disappointing spells away from the club.
It appears that Greenwood and Sancho, perhaps the two biggest names on the list, have their futures decided, with the club unlikely to retain them upon their return to United.
The 22-year-old Greenwood, currently on loan to Spanish club Getafe, is under contract with United until 2025. However, his contract includes an option to extend it for a further twelve months.
His move to Spain was controversial, despite charges of rape, assault and coercive control against the player being dropped by Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023. Greenwood denied all allegations against him.

Donny van de Beek has been disappointing since joining the Red Devils in July 2022
After an internal club investigation it was decided to send Greenwood out on loan, but now they could be prepared to let him leave permanently.
Meanwhile, Sancho’s time at the club appears to be coming to an end after his public feud with manager ten Hag came to an end.
Furthermore, youngsters like Fernandez, Mejbri and Pellistri have all been loaned out this year but have not yet started and are unlikely to retain a place in United’s squad for next season.
Forson is one of the few players who has remained at United through 2023/2024, but has made just three appearances for the Red Devils in the league this season.
