Billie Eilish announces third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft and reveals release date and merchandise: ‘Can’t wait for you to hear it!’

Billie Eilish and her big brother Finneas have officially announced that her third studio album is called Hit Me Hard and Soft, and it will be released on May 17 without any preceding singles.

“So crazy to write this right now, I’m (nervous and excited),” the 22-year-old pop star – who has 262 million social media followers – wrote on Monday.

‘I don’t do singles. I want to give it to you all at once. Finneas and I really couldn’t be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it. Love you love you love you.”

The 26-year-old musician added his own story after: ‘I love this album so much, so grateful that I could make this with Billie, so happy that it will be yours.’

Billie and Finneas’ posts received congratulations from Black Mirror actor Aaron Paul, hotel heiress and DJ Paris Hilton, and Friday hitmaker Rebecca Black.

Hit Me Hard and Soft – available in digital, CD, vinyl and cassette formats – contains ten ‘genre-bending, trend-defying’ songs with titles including Skinny, Chihiro, The Greatest and L’amour de ma vie, according to Rollingstone.

The nine-time Grammy winner has also released a line of new merchandise, including two T-shirts, two hoodies, a tank top, a poster, shoelaces and a necklace.

Billie’s new record promises to “hit you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically” and “travels through a vast and expansive audio landscape, immersing listeners in a full spectrum of emotions.”

Eilish’s new billboards plastered across several cities feature teasing lines like “She’s the headlights, I’m the deer” and “I try to live in black and white” and “Have I crossed the line?”

Last Thursday, the TV singer – who gets 65.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify – posted a photo of her ‘Hard & Soft’ hip tattoo, which fans now realize was her album title.

Billie first unveiled the ink while attending the Variety Hitmakers Brunch in Los Angeles on December 2.

Eilish and Finneas (last name O’Connell) recently won two Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for their whispering song What Was I Made For? from the Barbie soundtrack.

The brother-sister act – born and raised in LA’s Highland Park – employs their parents Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell as its personal assistant/fan outreach coordinator and utility player.
