Best FJX Horus Gear, Class Built in Modern Warfare 3

The FJX Horus will be no stranger to Call of Duty fans: it is a high damage submachine gun, added to Modern Warfare 3 in Season 3. The FJX Horus is described as having “the best CQC damage and mobility in its class.” That’s why it quickly found its way to the forefront of the meta (and is one to keep an eye on for our list of the best weapons in Modern Warfare 3).

As you’d expect, the base version of the weapon comes with a ridiculous fire rate stat, with very impressive controls and mobility to boot. The best construction for the FJX Horus takes full advantage of these strengths, meaning you usually don’t even have to aim the sights thanks to the power and accuracy you get from shooting from the hip.

Here is the best FJX Horus gear in Modern Warfare 3 and how to unlock the gun in the first place.

How to unlock the FJX Horus in MW3

To unlock the FJX Horus Modern Warfare 3 Season 3, you need to complete Sector 8 in the battle pass. The quickest route there from the start is straight up on the left, via Sectors 3 and 5. As is always the case with weapons unlocked through the Battle Pass, you don’t have to pay for the premium version, so as long as you earn enough tokens , you can get the FJX Horus for free.

The best FJX Horus gear is in here Modern Warfare 3:

  • Walk: Ruse-90 light barrel
  • Underrun: Lockgrip Precision-40
  • Laser: Dot-G3P 04
  • Back handle: POC-S Tac grip
  • Stock: Ripper light stock

As mentioned above, the purpose of this FJX Horus loadout is to maximize your effectiveness in close quarters combat – essentially turning the weapon into a machine when firing from the hip or in a tactical stance.

You are constantly on the move, so the Ruse-90 light barrel is the first essential attachment, as it improves your dash to fire, movement, and sprint speeds, in exchange for a small hit to your recoil check. It also improves your aiming speed, but trust us; you don’t want to do that too much because the recoil will become uncontrollable.

One of the biggest improvements in hipfire and tact poses comes from the Dot-G3P 04 laser. It’s not the only laser you could use here – a laser aimed at hipfire and tact stance will do the job – but it’s one of the best choices, with the only caveat that it’s visible on the hip. But that shouldn’t be a problem if you’re wandering around everywhere. We also went for the Lockgrip Precision-40 to control recoil a bit, and also to improve hip fire spread.

At the rear of the gun are two more useful attachments, the first of which is the Ripper light stock. This has a lot of improvements for this playstyle, including aiming, sprinting to fire and movement speeds, plus hip fire spread and tactical stances. Again, you’ll lose some accuracy if you aim down, but that’s not a problem. We also recommend using the POC-S Tac grip, which boosts dash-to-fire speed along with aim-down speed. That’s obviously not essential considering everything mentioned above, but the speed improvement from sprint to fire is. It’s the most interchangeable attachment of the lot, though, so you can opt for the S-37C DL Breacher Device S muzzle instead, or the 48 Round Mag if you find yourself running out of bullets too quickly.

This is the best class to use next to the FJX Horus Modern Warfare 3:

  • Cardigan: Compression carrier
  • Subordinate: Renetti
  • Deadly: Throwing knife
  • Gloves: Scavenger gloves
  • Boots: Lightweight boots
  • Acceleration: Ghost T/V camouflage

To kick things off, we went with the Compression carrier, as the instant healing it provides after an assassination or objective capture is unparalleled, especially with its resistance to enemy tactics. However, you could definitely go for the Overkill Vest, as the FJX Horus suits a very specific playstyle, and pairing it with a battle rifle or sniper rifle for longer range would also work well.

The Renetti is the secondary choice, simply because it is perhaps the best in the game and has been since launch, and for the deadly we choose a Throwing knife. This playstyle pits you against enemies all the time, so if you’ve exhausted all your bullets and need to reload, just throw a quick knife at them for a one-hit kill.

It’s an unorthodox choice, but thanks to the addition of the throwing knife, the Scavenger gloves are super useful here, especially since you’re burning so much ammo. We also went for the Lightweight boots thanks to the mobility buff, but honestly all the options in the boots category are decent here (aside from the Stalker Boots). finally, the Ghost T/V camouflage makes you go unnoticed as you move, so you shouldn’t show up on enemy radars.
