The business version of ChatGPT represents OpenAI’s first major venture into making a profit from its AI chatbot, and many others are looking to enter the market. Microsoft, one of OpenAI’s largest investors, is looking to develop its own enterprise-level AI offering, with new Copilot offerings for Microsoft 365.
Competing with companies like Microsoft is a tall order for Lightcap, which is looking to spread the praises of business AI to bring in new investments, which recent attempts to win contracts with media companies have proven successful with organizations like Germany’s Axel Springer SE. , France’s Le Monde and Spain’s Prisa join OpenAI
After facing semiconductor chip supply shortages, OpenAI has attempted to secure funding to set up a chip production line to meet the company’s needs for AI training hardware, with Lightcap stating that “there simply isn’t enough total supply in the world is.”
To grow the company, OpenAI is looking to expand its 1,200-strong workforce, but the hunt for the most talented individuals is tough with so many companies competing for the best and brightest.
