Robert Kiyosaki: Rich Dad Poor Dad author makes extremely controversial joke during Australian tour: ‘You can’t say that’

The author of Rich Dad Poor Dad has been criticized for a joke he made on stage during his Australian tour.

Robert Kiyosaki, 76, told a woman of Asian descent that he killed “a lot” of her people during the war and then pretended to shoot her.

On March 14, there were groans from the crowd at Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse, with one woman saying: ‘Oh my god. You can’t say that.’

“I killed a lot of you people, it’s not funny, but I did,” said the former U.S. Marine Corps attack helicopter pilot who served during the Vietnam War in 1971.

Fans of the best-selling personal finance author, who paid up to $1,000 for a ticket, alleged Kiyosaki also “berated” and “humiliated” women who came on stage to ask him questions.

At one point he told the audience: ‘You want to be a Marxist, send your kids to a damn school.

“They will learn how to become boys and become girls. Awful. Absolutely disgusting,” he said.

Kiyosaki told another woman in the audience that she was wearing a “hot outfit” and was “breaking men’s hearts.”

Kiyosaki also said, “Don’t waste my damn time, okay?” to a female fan.

The woman who posted the video said she went to the seminar with a friend.

“This was the last hour of the event where he invited the audience on stage to ask him a question,” she wrote.

‘He started berating and humiliating the women in particular, who all had very thoughtful questions.’

The event was billed as a nine-hour seminar, but she said Kiyosaki showed up for less than two hours.

“Tickets cost between $150 and $1,000 depending on seat distance from the stage,” the woman wrote.

‘In the last hour he repeated everything he said in the first hour. Then he left 30 minutes early. Lost all respect for him.’

She added: “All the other guest speakers just wanted to sell us their products.

‘Then after the event everyone was stuck in the parking lot for an hour because of a broken payment machine.’

After his seminar, Kiyosaki also held expensive events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.

‘I’m going to this boys’ lecture this month. Not what I expected from this, lol,” one person wrote online.

But some people also defended him, with one commenter writing: ‘Got to respect Robert, he’s not afraid to say what we’re all thinking.’

In January, Kiyosaki admitted he has US$1.2 billion (A$1.82 billion) in debt.
