Officers have cordoned off a crime scene and a NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the incident is believed to be a case of self-harm.
Residents at the back of the 22-storey apartment building looked out over the gruesome scene, as clothes were strewn across the sidewalk.
“I’ve lived here for three years, but I don’t know who the woman was,” said a witness.
‘It has always been a quiet apartment. We didn’t hear any disturbances beforehand.’
Another resident said: ‘We saw a pair of shoes in the street and she was apparently wearing a bathrobe when she fell.’
Police cordoned off the block with tape and officers allowed residents living in nearby buildings through one by one.
Multiple officers were seen guarding the front and back entrances of the building.
