Luke Littler has revealed how a trip to WrestleMania seven years ago inspired his walk-on music.

The 17-year-old has become a household name thanks to his exploits at the World Darts Championship at the turn of the year, which he has followed up with a string of high-profile successes.

Since it became a hit with supporters, many will be familiar with the teen sensation’s infamous walk-out song: ‘Greenlight’ by Pitbull.

Many had wondered where the inspiration for Littler’s unique song choice came from and now the 17-year-old has provided the answers.

Via X, formerly known as Twitter, Littler posted a video of himself at a WrestleMania event seven years ago before explaining the reasoning.

Littler shared a video of himself from a WrestleMania event seven years ago, where Pitbull’s “Greenlight” — now his walk-on music — can be heard coming from the stadium’s speakers

The caption read: ‘7 years ago my @OfficialPDC darts came to music from @WWE #Wrestlemania33 @pitbull Oh e Oh e Oh e Oh e Oh Oh Oh’.

The video shows a young Littler sitting and singing along to the song at Camping World Stadium in Florida, which seats 64,000 people.

The song apparently resonates with the teen star and Littler went on to explain how he “sang my head off” to the music in the stadium.

According to The sunhe said, “My dad and I went to Wrestlemania 33 seven years ago, it was in Florida, Orlando.

‘It was my first time there. It was a good song, I sang it by heart as a ten year old.

“I thought if I made it – I was still playing football a little bit at the time – that would be my walk-on.”

In January, WWE invited Littler to attend WWE Live in London on April 19, claiming they could even play the song for him at the event.

The promotion wrote: ‘We heard #WrestleMania 33 inspired your entrance music at @BBCR1, so you’re officially invited to @TheO2 on April 19 when WWE rolls through London. We might even get you @Pitbull’s “Greenlight”!”

Pitbull performed at the event in 2017 along with co-artists Flo Rida, Lunchmoney Lewis and Stephen Marley.

Littler recently revealed that his arm was injured by a rowdy spectator during one of his walk-ons

Last month, Littler revealed his arm was injured by a rowdy spectator during one of his walk-ons ahead of his Premier League win in Belfast.

However, his thrilling showdown with Michael Van Gerwen was marred slightly before he even reached the oche after his arm was grabbed and pulled.

The incident, which was not fully captured on Sky Sports cameras, appeared to have been caused by a punter holding Littler down while his walk-on music played.

Security officers, who flank players as they make their way to the stage, then intervened. It is not known whether the unnamed person was thrown out of the venue.
