The two sons of a former Manchester United star have signed their first professional contract at Old Trafford.

Darren Fletcher’s sons Jack and Tyler signed for United from City this summer in a deal worth £1.25 million.

They have impressed since then and were now eligible to make their first professional deals after turning 17.

Midfielder Jack has reportedly impressed manager Erik ten Hag, who has quickly ushered him into first-team training.

Fellow central midfielder Tyler, meanwhile, has done well with the youth team and both signed their contracts at the same time.

Tyler has been capped by Scotland at U16 level, while Jack represents England.

Club legend Darren Fletcher fulfills the role of technical director and works alongside Erik ten Hag’s first team. His employment is now under scrutiny, the Telegraph reports.

Fletcher made 342 appearances for the 13-time Premier League champions, largely during Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at the club, helping United secure domestic and European honours.

Fletcher acted as a key asset in midfield during the time Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes were part of United’s superstar team and finished his career with five English top-flight titles, an FA Cup, a Champions League and other major honours.

He eventually retired from football in 2019 after his career was previously interrupted by ulcerative colitis and has built a career off the pitch at United.

Fletcher was appointed technical director after retiring from playing and once explained his role as ‘taking a holistic view of the path for players from our academy to our first team.’

However, it is believed his current job title is currently under review by INEOS decision-makers, who are now considering moving the Scot to a new role with an amended job title.

The 40-year-old has worked closely with manager Erik ten Hag since the Dutchman joined the club two years ago.
