Shakira is dating British actor Lucien Laviscount after falling in love with the Emily In Paris star while they starred in her new music video. However, her latest romance has sparked concern among her friends, who fear the actor is only doing it for fame.

Their intimate display in the video for Shakira’s song Punteria – in which a topless Lucien, 31, caressed the Colombian singer’s cheek – led to speculation that they may have had a romance.

Now insiders have confirmed they are together but not ‘heavily involved’, much to the relief of 47-year-old Shakira’s friends, who reportedly fear he will break her heart.

“Shakira is desperate to fall in love, but her friends are worried because Lucien has slowly climbed the celebrity ladder while dating women who were all less famous than Shakira,” a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘The women he’s been with are all very different. Now he sees Shakira – and she wants love.

“But her friends worry that he just wants people to know his name, and she gives that. They see each other, but they are not really involved yet.’

They claimed that she is “not over her ex” Gerard Piqué and that everyone around her “knows Lucien is a rebound.”

“She is in a relationship with someone they fear is a player and she will be burned,” they concluded.

Shakira, who shares sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9, with Gerard, met the British-born star on the set of her video, in which he plays her love interest, in February.

The Hips Don’t Lie singer is seen wrapped in his arms, while another scene shows a topless Lucien sprawled across her lap with nothing but a loincloth covering his modesty as she dabs blood from his chest after kissing him shot with an arrow.

Days after the video came out, the couple was pictured enjoying dinner at Carbone Italian restaurant in New York City.

Shakira was dressed in a black corset and leather jacket, while Lucien complemented her in all black.

The pair got intimate on the set of Shakira’s video in which Lucien played her love interest, with scenes showing him topless after she shot him with an arrow.

Prior to the Colombian beauty, Lucien was linked to former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona.

Lucien met Kerry in 2011 when he was 19 and she was 31 on Celebrity Big Brother. They were filmed kissing and cuddling during the show and were linked up after leaving the house.

Kerry recently addressed reports that she was dating Lucien, telling OK! magazine: ‘Lucien was very charming when I met him in the Celebrity Big Brother house and we had a good time, but he was never officially my boyfriend…’

He was also linked to Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson in November 2021 when they were pictured kissing on the back of a rickshaw in London.

Shakira, who struck a last-minute deal with Spanish prosecutors last year to avoid jail time for tax fraud, was with her ex Gerard for 11 years until their split in the summer of 2022 after rumors he was unfaithful.

He has since started a relationship with 26-year-old Clara Chia Marti.

Shakira recently discussed ‘rebuilding’ her life following her divorce from the Spanish footballer, revealing that she channeled her pain into her twelfth studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.
