The LSU women’s basketball team sparked outrage ahead of their game against Iowa on Monday night after leaving the court before the U.S. national anthem had been played.
The LSU Tigers were defeated 94-87 by the Iowa Hawkeyes in Albany, where their star player Caitlin Clark produced an astonishing 41-point win.
But before the game got underway, footage on social media appeared to show LSU players skipping the national anthem as their Iowa counterparts stood hand-in-hand in front of it.
Fans are furious at Kim Mulkey’s team for not listening to the Star-Spangled Banner, with one person writing on X: ‘LSU is a complete disgrace. Their entire team should be sent off.”
