Revealed: Becky Lynch opens up on previously dating top WWE star and being ‘scared of losing him’ in new autobiography… years before starting a family with current world champion Seth Rollins

WWE star Becky Lynch has outlined how a relationship with a fellow WWE star failed before she made it big.

Lynch is one of the biggest stars in WWE today and will face Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania this weekend in one of the biggest matches of her career.

She rose to fame quickly after debuting in the company in 2013, becoming one of the biggest and most famous wrestlers of all time and continues to go strong after her return three years ago.

Lynch, married to fellow WWE star and world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, took more than a year off when she became pregnant with the couple’s daughter in 2020, returning in 2021 at SummerSlam to defeat Bianca Belair.

Although she is now in a committed relationship with Rollins, it wasn’t always that way, as she revealed in her new biography The Man: Not Your Average Girl.

It was fellow Irish star Finn Balor who Lynch was referring to, with the veteran having trained her in her early days before becoming a megastar in his own right.

The pair were in a relationship several years ago, but their lives became difficult, with Balor going to wrestle in Japan and Lynch still in Ireland.

“When he left, I knew it was over between us,” she wrote. ‘The distance was too great and in recent months I had become simultaneously demanding, clingy and afraid of losing him.

He was about to make his dream come true, and I wasn’t part of it.”

There were few wrestlers in Ireland when Balor, now 42, started training, with the star eventually helping out at local wrestling schools and launching The Fight Factory with Paul Tracey.

Although the pair eventually became close, Lynch wrote in her book that she thought Balor originally looked like “a real douchebag.” However, it could now be argued that The Judgment Day member was the most important person to shape Lynch’s career.

Balor’s departure to Japan was seemingly the cause of their divorce, while Lynch headed to America to pursue her wrestling dream. Ultimately, both stars would end up as major players in WWE.

Both will be in action at WrestleMania this weekend, with Lynch attempting to defeat Ripley and win her newest title in the company.

Balor, meanwhile, will team with factionmate Damian Priest to defend their tag team titles in a six-team ladder match against Awesome Truth, New Catch Republic, DIY, The New Day and A Town Down Under.

The Irishman’s participation was briefly thrown into doubt on Monday when he shared a video of a bizarre injury suffered during a house show the day before, although he is expected to be fine.
